What is Higgsfield Katana?

Katana is a Higgsfield skill for Claude, released on October 8, 2026. It uses a reference edit or a library preset and up to five photos of your people, products or clothing to rebuild an edit through Higgsfield MCP. The reference guides the shot structure and pacing; your photos define the subjects.

Start with a reference

Choose a Katana preset or prepare a video you have permission to use.

Connect in Claude

Authorize the Higgsfield MCP connector with your Higgsfield account.

Check the cost

An active Higgsfield subscription is required. Generations spend Higgsfield credits; review the cost shown before confirming.

Create with your own reference in SeedGen AI

Add a subject image and a motion reference video. Edit the brief, review the settings and credit estimate, then sign in to generate with Seedance 2.5.

1. Add a subject image · 2. Add a motion video · 3. Review and generate

This creates a new reference-guided video. Exact cuts, typography, music timing and editable project files are not guaranteed. Use material you own or have permission to use.

SeedGen AI credits apply here. Check the estimate in the generator; these credits do not provide access to Higgsfield Katana. View SeedGen AI pricing

Three briefs to explore

These are suggested starting points, not tested results or Katana presets. Begin with a short reference and review the entire output.

A character entrance

Pair a clear portrait with a simple entrance or gesture. Check face consistency, hands and the final pose.

An outfit showcase

Use a full-body photo showing the outfit and a reference with a simple camera move. Check clothing details throughout.

A product hero shot

Use a clean product photo and a restrained motion reference. Check silhouette, proportions and labels before sharing.

How to use Higgsfield Katana in Claude

For the official Katana workflow, use Higgsfield and Claude. The SeedGen AI generator above is a separate service.

  1. Connect Higgsfield

In Claude, open the connectors settings, add Higgsfield as a custom connector using https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp, and authorize your Higgsfield account.

  2. Choose an edit

Enter /katana to browse presets, or start from the official Katana page with your reference video. A direct media-file URL can also work; social profile links are not accepted.

  3. Add your subjects

Upload up to five photos through the Higgsfield upload window opened in the conversation. Images pasted directly into the Claude chat are not automatically passed as Katana references.

  4. Generate and refine

Review the credit cost before confirming. Preview the result in Claude or Higgsfield Assets, then request changes in chat. Changes requiring new generations can spend additional credits.

Higgsfield Katana: common questions

Is Higgsfield Katana free?

The official guide says an active Higgsfield subscription is required and generations use plan credits. There is no separate MCP markup, but this does not make generation free. Check current regional plans and the cost shown before each generation.

Do I need Claude to use this page?

Reading this guide and using SeedGen AI do not require Claude. The official Katana workflow runs in Claude through the Higgsfield connector.

Does SeedGen AI include Higgsfield Katana?

No. This page offers an independent guide and a separate Seedance 2.5 reference-video generator. SeedGen AI is not affiliated with Higgsfield or Anthropic.

Where do I find Katana presets?

Open the official Katana page or enter /katana in a Claude chat with the Higgsfield connector enabled. The library includes personalized edits, style transfer and motion transfer.

Can I reproduce the exact reference edit here?

References guide generation, but identical shot timing, captions, transitions, identity and music are not guaranteed. Inspect the full clip and use a dedicated editor for precise finishing.

Which Claude plan does Katana require?

Higgsfield’s guide requires a usable connector and an active Higgsfield subscription but does not specify a particular Claude plan. Check connector availability in your account before subscribing for this workflow.

How is Katana different from Genjutsu?

Higgsfield describes Katana as rebuilding a reference edit. Genjutsu focuses on motion transfer and object swap. Their names and presets should not be treated as interchangeable.
